A work permit allows a non-Thai citizen to work as a skilled professional or run a business in Thailand.
A foreigner is required to hold a work permit in order to be able to work legally in Thailand. To work without a work permit in Thailand is a criminal offence and there is a severe punishment which could include deportation out of the country.
A Work Permit is a permit issued by the Labour Department allowing that foreigner to work within the job description under the Work Permit. The Work Permit states the details of the foreign national’s permission to work in Thailand, which includes details of his/her occupation, role, or job description, location of work and the name of the Thai company who is the employer of the foreigner.
There is quite a process involved for obtaining a work permit. Contact International Business Consultants for further information.
